How does eSight Go work?

While the technology is advanced, the operation is straightforward.  eSight Go captures what’s in front of you, projects and displays it with clarity and precision in real-time.  Here’s a quick breakdown:

  1. Capture: A small, high-speed, high-definition camera housed inside the glasses captures everything you are looking at.
  2. Project: Advanced, clinically validated algorithms optimize and enhance the footage captured by the camera.
  3. Display: The footage is presented on two near-to-eye OLED screens in real time with stunning clarity.
  4. Control: A built-in trackpad gives the user easy-to-maneuver touch controls like zoom and contrast.

A wireless remote and mobile app allow for even more advanced features.

eSight Go can help people with significant central vision loss and legal blindness achieve up to 20/20 enhanced vision.

The Next Evolution: eSight Go vs. eSight 4

Building upon the success of its predecessor, eSight 4, eSight Go represents the next evolution in wearable technology.  While eSight 4 revolutionized the way individuals with low vision experienced the world, eSight Go takes it a step further with an even lighter, more compact design, an increased field-of-view, better image stabilization, and easier-to-use software.  Additionally, eSight Go offers enhanced comfort and usability, ensuring a seamless experience ideal for all-day wear.

Gentex Acquisition: Making Wearable Tech More Affordable for Consumers

eSight’s parent company, Gentex, is a leading global manufacturer of connected-car technologies and advanced electronic features that optimize driver vision.  With Gentex’s recent acquisition of eSight, consumers can expect even greater access to the life-changing technology of eSight Go.  By leveraging Gentex’s resources and expertise, eSight can streamline production processes and scale distribution, ultimately driving down prices and making eSight Go more accessible to individuals with visual impairments.  As noted in Forbes, this acquisition marks a positive trend in mainstreaming assistive technology in order to provide greater access to the individuals who need it most.

Differentiation from Other Wearables

“Is it just something to help with watching movies or do I want to use it to go to school, to work and have it more integrated into my day-to-day activities? With eSight, I can leave the apartment, walk down the stairs, get an Uber, see the license plate, go to the store, navigate around and read price tags. That’s really where we feel we still have a unique value proposition for our customers.”   Roland Mattern, Director of Sales and Marketing, eSight Corp. (from an interview in Forbes)

Person checking mail wearing eSight

What sets eSight Go apart from other wearables is its unique focus on preserving peripheral vision and enabling prolonged use.  Some devices are completely immersive, obstructing peripheral vision, and are therefore limited in what they can do.  On the other hand, eSight Go enhances your entire field of view and allows you to maintain awareness of your surroundings.  Coupled with a lightweight frame and long battery life, eSight Go’s open design is perfect for all-day wear, guiding you through a wide variety of daily tasks and activities indoors and out.  Use it to see clearly while reading, cooking, paying bills, checking the mail, shopping, errands, you name it!

Support & Coaching

With the purchase of an eSight, you’ll receive five personalized, 1:1 coaching sessions (each lasting 60 minutes) facilitated by a certified eSight coach.

eSight coaches are trained to help you get the most out of your purchase.  They are also eSight users.  Coaches will help with onboarding and gaining confidence with using the device through graduated learning.  They will tailor lessons to your unique needs and goals and answer all your questions.

Your purchase also includes a 1-year manufacturer’s warranty and access to lifetime software upgrades.
