Accessibility Statement

General

AdaptiVision, Inc. is committed to ensuring digital accessibility for people with disabilities.  Service with integrity is at the core of our company’s mission.  This mission drives our commitment to make www.lowvisionsource.com accessible to people of all levels of ability.  We continue to make changes to improve the user experience for everyone and apply the relevant accessibility standards.

As our guide across the site we use the World Wide Web Consortium’s Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG).  The Web Content Accessibility Guidelines defines requirements for designers and developers to improve accessibility for people with disabilities. It defines three levels of conformance: Level A, Level AA, and Level AAA.

Wherever possible, AdaptiVision, Inc. will aim to adhere to the WCAG 2.1 Level AA standards, WCAG’s recommended level of conformance for entire sites.  These standards indicate that sites should be:

  • Perceivable – Information and user interface components must be presentable to users in ways they can perceive.
  • Operable – User interface components and navigation must be operable.
  • Understandable – Information and the operation of user interface must be understandable.
  • Robust – Content must be robust enough that it can be interpreted reliably by a wide variety of user agents, including assistive technologies.

Our initial accessibility work consisted of a sitewide audit and remediation for issues that were found.  Automated testing as well as manual testing for keyboard navigation and screen reader support was conducted globally.  Our staff also received training on best practices for digital accessibility in content creation.

AdaptiVision continues to use ongoing automated and manual testing.  Automated reports are reviewed on a monthly basis to identify and remediate any accessibility issues that may arise.  We will continue to monitor our website and make accessibility updates as needed.

We are committed now and into the future to ensuring equal access to our website, products and services.  As such, please note that our efforts to improve accessibility and usability are ongoing.  Although our goal is to make our site as accessible as possible, some issues may be encountered by different assistive technology as the range of assistive technology is wide and varied.  We appreciate your understanding and feedback in this process.
