I wish it took my eyes off but I was taking my glasses off, and I was constantly rubbing my eyes and they're just always tired and strained. And every eye doctor that I went to for just checking on my eye for my prescription, they would just say oh you're just, you're just tired, you're just strained, oh they're just dry. And my brother in here he suggested that I go see his ophthalmologist. I was informed that I would be blind within two weeks. I had macular degeneration, I had diabetic retinopathy, I had cataracts. I could either sit there and dwell or I could keep moving forward which is what I chose to do. And I got to try to figure out what it was like to be blind in the summer of 2019. Three days later at another hospital that diagnosed me with a stroke I lost all my side peripheral vision and I lost my depth perception. And it pretty much took away everything. I have enough that I can see if I'm close enough with magnification and that's about it. Colors are starting to blur for me. Things are difficult. I'm now understanding what the rest of the community are going through and it's given me a fire to continue to fight. I'm learning with diabetic apps which usually post monitoring apps. They're not accessible, they don't speak out loud, or they don't work with phones whether it be Apple, Android whatever it doesn't matter. Nine times out of ten for coding it's a yes or no, it could be a one or a two or it could be true or false. Companies are not paying to change these lines of code so with knowing that information I've gone back to school. I've done web development, I've done web design and I'm hoping for a full-stack development course and that's what my fight is about. And with these eSight glasses I'm able to see the monitor so much better, to see the lines of code. So that hopefully one day I'll be able to design my own applications and I'll be able to help our communnity.[Text: eSight. See new possibilities.]
